Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t getting back to his Star Island mansion anytime soon.
The embattled rapper, behind bars without bail at MDC in Brooklyn since being arrested last month, just got his day in court.
The date, May 5, 2025, was reportedly jointly set by defense attorneys and the judge, as part of a discovery status update on Thursday.
Just a day before, Combs’ legal team filed documents to appeal his stay behind bars at the pre-trial facility that has been described as “hell on earth,” as per TMZ.
Attorneys reportedly accused the Department of Homeland Security, which raided Combs’ two mansions in March, of leaking the shocking video of their client attacking ex Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016.
The resurfaced clip led to “damaging, highly prejudicial pretrial publicity that can only taint the jury pool and deprive Mr. Combs of his right to a fair trial,” they said.
The 54-year -old mogul faces conspiracy racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution charges. Additional charges may be forthcoming, according to ABC News, which adds the trial will last about a month.
“Our investigation is very much ongoing,” prosecutor Emily Johnson said of the fallen music star who reportedly wore ankle shackles in the courtroom appearance.
Manhattan federal court Judge Arun Subramanian will preside over the proceedings.jilimacao
